Sharon Osbourne donated £10,000 to a family whose young terminally-ill dad only has months to live after suffering from bowel cancer.

The 'X Factor' judge, who beat colon cancer 10 years ago, sent a supportive message to 23-year-old bowel cancer-sufferer Ryan Glenny - who is known by his middle name Felix - and urged him to continue to fight the illness and offered his family money to help support themselves.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, her message read: "Dear Felix, from a survivor, never give up the fight and hope. God Bless you and your family. Love, Sharon Osbourne."

Ryan's wife Cola, also 23, has grown concerned about how the family are going to finance themselves after he passes away.

The mother-of-two recently gave up her job as a hairdresser to look after their children, two-year-old Ralph and four-month-old Pearl, and confessed her husband was also worried about their future.

Cola said: "All he wanted to know when all this was happening was if the kids were going to be all right once he'd gone.

"He just wanted to know we had some money for the future, and we're sorted."

Ryan's friend has set up a fundraising website which has managed to generate £40,000, and Cola has been left overwhelmed by the "incredible" generosity of well-wishers.

She said: "It has really put my mind at rest because I know I can look after my children now. I'm so grateful to everyone that's donated.

"To get a donation from Sharon Osbourne herself is incredible. It's a huge amount.

"I honestly can't believe the level of kindness that both friends and strangers have shown."

The pair tied the knot at the social club in Medway Maritime Hospital, Kent, south east England, after they found out Ryan was terminally ill.

Ralph was page boy for the nuptials, and Cola gushed about the couple's time together and the memories they've built.

She added: "When we found out the cancer was terminal we just wanted to do it straight away.

"It was a really amazing day. It was crazy because we were really happy, but it was so emotional.

"I can honestly say the last three years with Ryan have been the best of my life."
