Sharon Osbourne was too petrified to look her future husband Ozzy Osbourne in the eyes when they first met.
The 71-year-old music manager – who has built a career on being outspoken and fiery – encountered the rocker at the peak of his wild days as part of Black Sabbath, and admitted she found the metal group so “strange” she had no idea what they would say or do from one moment to the next.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: “I remember being very intimidated by them all when we met for the first time.
“I just thought, ‘Oh Lord, this is a bit strange.’ They were sitting on the floor of the office, and I was afraid to look at them in the eyes because I didn’t know what they were going to do or say.”
At the time of the meeting, Sharon – who has three children with dad-of-five Ozzy, who she married in 1982 – was working for her dad Don Arden, the infamous rock boss who managed Sabbath through their wildest years in the 1970s.
Ozzy was unceremoniously fired from the band in 1979 due to substance abuse, but went on to forge a solo career that made him a far bigger star than he ever was with the group.
On Friday (24.11.23) Sharon also gave an update on Ozzy’s health as he continues to recover from a series of surgeries and battle his rare – but mild – form of Parkinson’s.
Ozzy had a quadbike accident back in 2003 but after suffering another fall in 2019, he was in more pain than ever and underwent multiple surgeries.
During her appearance on ‘Good Morning Britain’, Sharon was asked by host Ben Shephard: “How is Ozzy doing? Because I know it has been a tough few years hasn’t it?”
Sharon replied: “Oh a nightmare. A nightmare five years of operations and just you know I do not know how he has stood for it.”
