Seth MacFarlane will donate up to $1 million to the 'Reading Rainbow' Kickstarter.
The 'Family Guy' creator has thrown his support behind the campaign, which looks to make the educational reading show accessible to all children, and the show's host LeVar Burton has thanked his generous friend.
In a special video, he said: "Seth, this donation is going to help us ensure that this next generation is indeed a generation that loves to read. And that's no small thing. You've got deep pockets, baby. But you've got an even bigger heart."
LeVar hosted the show until its cancellation in 2006, and launched a tablet app inspired by the show in 2012, but he has admitted it's not a format accessible to everyone.
He is trying to raise $5 million and has promised the show will be in 7,500 classrooms for free and as it nears it's goal, Seth has promised to match all donations, up to $1 million, pledged between Thursday and July 2.
LeVar wrote on the Kickstarter page: "Before you start calling your friends and spreading the word, please help me thank my friend, Seth, for his amazing generosity. With his help, we can make an even bigger difference for an entire generation of kids. That's just huge."
