Selena Gomez has been inundated with support following her heartfelt speech at the American Music Awards on Sunday (20.11.16).
The 24-year-old singer made her first public appearance since entering rehab earlier this year due to suffering from "anxiety, panic attacks and depression" because of her lupus condition to collect her Favourite Female Artist gong at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and won praise for her honest and open acceptance message.
Colton Haynes tweeted: "Sendin the biggest hug in the world to @selenagomez for speaking about how important it is to take care of your mental health (sic)"
And Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello simply shared a heart emoji and wrote: "I love you @selenagomez (sic)"
Taylor Swift shared a video of herself yelling with pride at the TV as her pal picked up the award, while model Martha Hunt tweeted: "@selenagomez just gave an incredibly moving speech (sic)"
An onlooker at the ceremony told E! News that Niall Horan had approached Selena as he returned to his seat from backstage and gave his pal a hug and told her "You did so good!"
Ariana Grande was also seen speaking to the 'Kill Em With Kindness' singer, while Lady Gaga was visibly tearful when Selena gave her speech.
And as she left the stage, the brunette beauty was greeted by a hug from Hailee Steinfeld.
During the 'Hands to Myself' hitmaker's emotional acceptance speech she opened up about trying too hard to please others.
Speaking on stage, she said: "I think it's safe to say most of you know my life whether I liked it or not. And I had to stop, because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside, and I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.
"I don't want to see your bodies on Instagram. I want to see what's in here. I'm not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore ... "
