Selena Gomez feels she has "given enough" of herself.
After high-profile romances with Justin Bieber and Zedd, the 'Heart Wants What It Wants' hitmaker has revealed she is trying to live her life out of the spotlight.
She said: "I think I've given enough of myself, if that makes sense.
"I feel within my music and even how I handle myself in interviews, I think people think they know but really they don't. In a way, I like to keep myself a little private but at the same time, people do assume things and take pictures and stuff."
However, the 22-year-old singer isn't worried about expressing herself in her music and appeared to confirm she addressed her split from the 'Boyfriend' hitmaker in one of her tracks on her new album.
Speaking to Z100's Elvis Duran, she said: "When it comes to my music, I did record a song on the album that is going to be about the subject I went through because I do think I should acknowledge it. But it's beautiful."
Meanwhile, a source recently claimed that the star is keen on writing more songs based on her personal experiences.
They said: "Selena's written a lot more songs based on her personal experiences and heartbreaks.
"It was Taylor [Swift] that she drew inspiration from in that sense, who told her that's something she should really focus on because it's what people, especially young female fans, can relate to."
