Selena Gomez "felt like a bad ass" when she got to handle a gun for her film the 'Getaway'.
The 21-year-old actress plays a wild runaway in her latest film and had to use a gun - which she had no previous experience of - but once she had mastered the weapon, it added to her character.
She said: "They wanted me to figure [using a gun] out on my own because I was supposed to be a young kid, not a professional, so I learnt how to hold it properly, but I was scared. It was definitely the weirdest thing, but I felt like a bad ass which was cool."
Despite playing bad girls in 'Getaway' and previous film 'Spring Breakers', Selena insists she is nothing like either character in real life and the only thing she has ever stolen was worth less than a dollar.
Selena - who stars with Ethan Hawke in 'Getaway' - said: "As far as having a wild streak in my real life, I stole a Chapstick when I was seven-years-old at a store.
"I wanted to do an action movie and it was the opportunity to play a tomboy. I asked the director if I could dye my hair black. I was given the opportunity to be somebody else and obviously working with Ethan is an honour, it's fun."
