The pair had a brief relationship after working on the duet 'I Want You To Know' together but have remained friends and Zedd told Selena she can always rely on him.

A source told HollywoodLife.com: "They talk and hang out. There is no awkwardness whatsoever. He has told Selena that he is there for her no matter what because he knows she needs a friend more than anything right now as she transitions through moving on from Justin Bieber. Selena is at a crossroads right now that she has to figure out, and it is hard to do all of it while in the spotlight.

"They had their moment and it is strictly friendship. Nothing more, nothing less!"

Meanwhile, Selena was recently linked to One Direction singer Niall Horan after they were spotted supposedly kissing at a birthday party and later seen on a romantic stroll at Santa Monica Pier but she has spoken out to deny anything is going on.

When asked about their relationship, she told Entertainment Tonight: "Oh my God! No [but] I love him, I always have. He's amazing."

And sources close to the star have claimed she is still in love with her ex Justin Bieber.

An insider said: "Selena is still in love with Justin, but as exciting as it is for them to be back together, she's terrified to trust her heart again because he's hurt her so many times."
