Scarlett Johansson thinks porn can be liberating.
Johansson is starring as a girlfriend of an X-rated movie addict Joseph Gordon-Levitt in her new movie 'Don Jon' admits she's a fan of the more "artistic" adult films which don't degrade women.
"Pornography can be degrading or can be sexually liberating, if you know how to use it and it is made from an artistic point of view.
"But 'Don Jon' is not a film about pornography, it is a social criticism against consumerism." She tells Refinery 29:
Scarlett Johansson 28, retains her modesty in the comedy as the seductive girlfriend Barbara, a character she could identify with.
"I loved the sweetness of Barbara. Like her, I grew up with young people like them, well educated, perfect. They are a very determined group of New Jerseyites. In fact, I refer to Joseph Gordon-Levitt, actor and director of the film, helping to shape the character." says Scarlett.
Johansson does however bare all in her upcoming movie, 'Under the Skin', because she felt it had artistic merit.
Scarlett said: "I'm not fond of nudism. Like everyone, I am aware of my body and in this film I put aside prejudices to get into the skin of an alien. I had the collaboration of an artist, as director Jonathan Glazer protected me at all times. The nudity in this film is not exploitative."
