Scarlett Johansson found it "grounding" to keep working whilst raising her daughter.
The 32-year-old actress has two-year-old daughter Rose with her estranged husband Romain Dauriac, and has said she was "still nursing" her when she started shooting her new movie 'Ghost In The Shell', and admits doing so forced her to separate her work and home life in a way that was "wonderful" for her.
Speaking to E! News, the blonde beauty said: "Even when I was shooting ['Ghost in the Shell'] I was still nursing. That is a very grounding [thing.] If you ever needed to return to yourself, that is a pretty wonderful way to come back to yourself when you go home.
"You have to leave all that work stuff behind and be able to present with your kid. I am very thankful that's my reality at the end of the day."
Scarlett previously confessed she only took on the role in the live-action remake of the Japanese manga tale after consulting her therapist, because of how soon after her pregnancy it was.
She said: "I'd had my daughter a couple of months before and it just seemed like an enormous undertaking. But something about it was enigmatic and I sat on it and discussed it in therapy. It was on my mind."
Meanwhile, the 'Lucy' star - who split from Romain earlier this month after claiming their marriage is "irretrievably broken" - said she'll "never" speak about her divorce for the sake of her young daughter.
She said in a statement at the time: "As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage.
"Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same. Thank you."
