Sarah Paulson enjoys living apart from her girlfriend Holland Taylor.
The 49-year-old actress has been in a relationship with former 'Two and a Half Men' star Holland, 81, since 2015 but the pair made the conscious decision to not move in together because both of them had already grown accustomed to their independent lifestyles by the time they met.
Speaking on 'CBS Sunday Mornings', she explained: "Holland and I live separately. I don't know if you know this but Holland is a good bit older than I am, and she lived a lot of her on her own.
"And I lived a lot of my life on my own, and I think we both sort of arrived at this relationship recognizing that we wanted to maintain some of that. I think we were adult enough to say 'I don't wanna give this up, and [you] don't wanna give this up, so let's be together but let's also be separate', which is lovely."
The '12 Years a Slave' star was then asked if she and her partner "miss" each other when they are apart and confirmed that they do but make a lot of time for each other via video call.
She said: "Oh God yes, oh God, yes! But we get along great on the FaceTime!"
Meanwhile, Sarah has been nominated for a Tony for her leading role in the Broadway play 'Appropriate' - which follows a trio of estranged siblings as they reunite to deal with their late father's estate - and admitted that getting to appear on The Great White Way was a dream she "never imagined" would come true as she thanked her mother for encouraging her passion during childhood.
She said: "This was something I never could've imagined. My mother spent a lot of time taking me to the theatre when I was younger because she was a good mom who knew that it was really a passion of mine.
"Pinch me. If this is a dream, I really don't wanna wake up. We all have dreams as children, right? And I feel like I'm getting to experience it, and it's really special."
