Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were forced to move into a tiny "roadside hotel" after their wedding.
The 37-year-old actor, 37, married the former 'Gossip Girl' star in a secret ceremony near Charleston, South Carolina, in September 2012, and he found it challenging to shoot his new movie, 'The Captive,' in freezing temperatures in Ontario, Canada immediately after they spent their honeymoon soaking up the sun in Africa.
Speaking at a press conference for the movie at the Cannes International Film Festival on Friday (16.05.14), Ryan said: "I dragged my wife from our honeymoon in Africa and landed her in Ontario, Canada, when it was minus-40 degrees."
The heartthrob, who was previously married to Scarlett Johansson for three years until 2011, revealed they moved into "this little roadside hotel where we stayed for a month. That was the biggest challenge."
But Ryan admitted Blake was a good sport, adding: "Ironically, she coped with it far better than I did."
The blonde beauty, 26, previously said she was glad she took some time off to enjoy being a newlywed with Ryan after their nuptials.
She said: "Having a personal life has been really nice. I'd been on 'Gossip Girl' 10 months a year for six years, shooting 15-hour days, so I hadn't had time to just be since I graduated from high school."
She added: "It's been nice to kind of settle into my own skin and work on things I really love."
