Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are the new owners of Wrexham football club.
The 'Deadpool' star and the 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' actor are the new owners of National League club after Wrexham Supporters Trust members voted in favour of the motion. Out of the 2000 members, 1,809 approved the decision and wished the new owners "the very best of luck in charge". Only 26 were against whilst nine chose to abstain.
A video was shared on the club's Twitter, with the caption: "A message from our owners-elect ... Welcome to Wrexham AFC, @RMcElhenney and @VancityReynolds ... #WxmAFC (sic)"
Rob said: "To the Wrexham Supporters Trust, thank you for your faith and trust in us."
Whilst Ryan added: "We are humbled and we are already getting to work."
And in a statement, the trust confirmed the takeover "subject to final agreement".
Confirming the acquisition, they added: "Subject to final agreement, league and FA confirmation - the RR McReynolds Company, LLC will take 100% control of Wrexham Football Club from the WST. Both parties will now proceed with finalising the details of the takeover, and we will update Wrexham supporters as soon as we can."
Ryan and Rob had previously laid out their plans for the club - which has been fan-owned since 2011 - during a virtual supporters’ trust meeting in early November.
Ryan said: "We want to be at the Racecourse Ground as much as possible – as many games as I can make. We want to have a pint with the fans. You’ll be fed up with us! We want to be great ambassadors for the club, to introduce the club to the world and be a global force."
