Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes think looking after themselves is key to making their marriage work.
The couple - who host 'This Morning' together on Fridays - knew working so closely on 'How The Other Half Lives' would put a strain on their marriage, so ensured their evenings were kept free of exercise and allowed them time for themselves instead.
Ruth said: "All marriages come under strain when everything else in your life is so manic.
"We had to look ahead and say, 'Right, let's make sure it doesn't affect us.' "
Eamonn added: "We approached it in quite a business-like way. The only way our marriage will survive is if we look after ourselves and don't work in the evenings.
"I cycle and go to Pilates three times a week now at my local health club. It's amusing, as the women there pull my leg. But it makes me physically and mentally stronger."
The couple have a 13-year-old son, Jack, together, and Ruth admits she is the tougher parent because she sees it as her "duty" to raise him to be self-sufficient.
She told Closer magazine: "I'm the disciplinarian, the one who says to Jack, 'Put your shoes away, hang up your blazer, tidy up.'
"I think it's my duty as a mother to raise a man who isn't relying on women to clean up after him - there are far too many of those."
