The 44-year-old actress previously revealed via her Instagram page on Wednesday (11.10.17) that she'd been blocked from the micro-blogging site after she told Ben Affleck to "f**k off" and accused him of lying about his knowledge of movie producer Harvey Weinstein's alleged sexual misconduct, but after a 12-hour ban, she's now allowed back on the social media platform.

However, she has yet to Tweet since the block was lifted.

Twitter explained they had blocked the 'Charmed' star's account "temporarily" because she had posted a private phone number.

They said in a statement online: "We have been in touch with Ms. McGowan's team. We want to explain that her account was temporarily locked because one of her Tweets included a private phone number, which violates our Terms of Service.

"The Tweet was removed and her account has been unlocked. We will be clearer about these policies and decisions in the future."

The company went on to stress they had not pulled her account over her outspoken tweets about the disgraced movie mogul - who has been accused of sexually harassing a number of women, including Rose, over a three-decade period - and would stand by the "brave" people who use their site to tell their own stories.

They added: "Twitter is proud to empower and support the voices on our platform, especially those that speak truth to power.

"We stand with the brave women and men who use Twitter to share their stories, and will work hard every day to improve our processes to protect those voices."

The 'Death Proof' actress had previously blamed "powerful forces" for her account being suspended.

She wrote on Instagram: "TWITTER HAS SUSPENDED ME. THERE ARE POWERFUL FORCES AT WORK. BE MY VOICE. #ROSEARMY #whywomendontreport (sic)"

Rose has been one of the most vocal critics of Weinstein, alleging the film producer sexually harassed and assaulted her earlier in her career.

What's more, she blasted Affleck after the actor condemned Weinstein's alleged acts of sexual harassment, insisting he has been aware of the accusations for years.

Affleck, 45, has also apologised to actress Hilarie Burton for groping her during an appearance on MTV's 'Total Request Live' back in 2003.

In the wake of the scandal, Weinstein - who has denied many of the allegations - has been sacked from The Weinstein Company and his wife of ten years, fashion designer Georgina Chapman, has left him. He is to seek treatment in a rehab facility in the US.
