Rosamund Pike has been granted planning permission to build a garden office at her London property.
The 42-year-old actress is constructing an outdoor shed – with a letterbox window to light up a writing desk – at her £2.3 million townhouse in Islington, North London.
The former Bond girl applied to her local council earlier this year with the planned structure "to be used ancillary to the main residential building".
According to her application, Rosamund – who shares sons Solo, eight, and Atom, six with partner Robie Uniacke – needed "more amenable, useable and flexible in the back garden".
The 'I Care A Lot' star required permission to make developments on the building, which dates back to the 1820s, as it is Grade-II listed and is located in a designated conservation area but the work is set to commence next month.
Pike has also requested permission to make changes to the rear of her home and build a new conservatory in a separate planning application.
A friend of the star told Sebastian Shakespeare's column in the Daily Mail newspaper: "Rosamund is very big on having an inspiring working space, so for her to have the go-ahead on this has made her really happy."
Rosamund and her family have been based in the Czech Republic recently as she filmed the fantasy TV series 'The Wheel of Time' in Prague and she previously said she feels "very far away" from the UK.
Asked if she lives in the Czech capital now, she said: "It would seem so. I’m working here so we decided instead of the constant back and forth we would all up sticks and move here. It seems even further away now Brexit has happened. We feel like we are in a very different country and it feels very far away suddenly."
