Ronan Keating will “never” come to terms with Stephen Gately’s death.

The ‘Forever Ain’t Enough’ singer still misses his late Boyzone bandmate – who died of natural causes 11 years ago – and still finds it hard to believe he’s “gone”.
He said: “It's awful. It's absolutely hideous. You never come to terms with it, you just try to deal with it and move on. It's still hard. I miss him all the time. He was such a great shining light. It's hard to believe he’s gone.”
Though Boyzone are no longer together, Ronan still speaks to Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy on a regular basis.
Speaking to New! magazine, he said: "I speak to them all the time. We don’t see each other that much at the minute because of Covid, but we always speak to each other."
The 43-year-old singer has been in the spotlight since Boyzone formed in 1993 and he’s most proud of the fact he’s still singing now and can bring joy to people.
Asked his career highlight, he said: “Longevity. I know it's a cliché, but still being here.
"When you look at the times we're going through and people are really struggling, if I can give happiness with my music then that's great.
"Hopefully I've helped people through some tough times."
But the ‘Life is a Rollercoaster’ hitmaker admitted it hasn’t all been plain sailing for his career over the years.
He said: "There have been good times and bad times. You have things that don't work and things that do work.
"It's not always a bed of roses - you've got to take the good with the bad and keep going.”
