Rod Stewart "can't" listen to his own music when he's having sex.
The 'Maggie May' hitmaker - who is married to Penny Lancaster, the mother of his two youngest children - insists he has never used his own back catalogue as the soundtrack to his bedroom antics.
Asked if he had, he made a shrinking gesture and laughed: "No. No I can't! It would go like that."
The 70-year-old rocker recorded his latest album 'Another Country' in the Beverly Hills home he shares with Penny and their sons Alistair, nine, and Aiden, four, and he finds it a "lovely" experience.
He told 'Entertainment Tonight Canada': "It's lovely, I record in my library and the kids run in and my wife Penny brings me in a cup of tea with everybody else. It's just lovely."
And asked if he records in his pyjamas, the saucy star laughed: "I sleep in the nude."
One track on the album, 'Batman Superman Spiderman' is inspired by the tales Rod tells his youngest son, and he admitted all his eight children have inspired his writing at some point in his career.
He said: "I always go up and read him a story. And I always say, 'What do you want the story to be about?' And he says, 'It's a make-up story Dad!' And I said, 'Give me a clue!' He says, 'Batman. Superman or Spiderman.' And I went, 'Oh that's a song!'
"I've written songs about all the kids. I mean, I'm so bloody proud of them. I really am!"
