Robin Thicke wasn't invited to his wife's prom because she "didn't want to show up with a white guy."
The 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker admits his actress spouse, Paula Patton, was worried about going public with their interracial relationship when they were younger and opted against taking him as her date to her high school prom.
In an interview with US radio's 'The Howard Stern Show', Robin said: "The funny thing is, in high school she didn't take me to her prom, because she didn't want everyone to know she was with a white guy because she was president of the Black Student Union.
"I was a secret. She didn't want to show up with a white guy. Funny right?"
Despite their rocky teenage years, Robin, 36, tied the knot with the '2 Guns' actress in 2005 and they now have a three-year-old son named Julian.
Paula, 37, recently said their little boy is following in his father's musical footsteps.
She said: "He's an extrovert and he wants to be just like daddy. He sings and makes up his own songs. He's got a song called 'Pop Song'. It's all choruses. He certainly got the gift from daddy."
