Robert Downey Hr.'s wife Susan Downey has given birth to a baby girl.
The newborn is yet to be named but adds to the pair's current brood of two-and-a-half-year-old son Exton and 21-year-old Indio from Robert's previous marriage to Deborah Falconer.
Last week a tribute came from Robert for his wife and soon-to-be-born child at the BAFTA Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards, where he took home the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Aweard for Excellence in Film.
He said at the time: "It's just the uncertainty of how nowadays you have all these things where you think you have much more of an understanding of what you're going to get. And then this little soul lets herself be known to you, and it's just like, You don't know anything. It's great!
"How is she still so darn pretty and functional and mood-stable?"
Robert and Susan wed in 2005, and he had previously admitted his excitement at the prospect of becoming a dad for the third time, despite his nerves of raising his first daughter.
"I've never had a daughter before, so I don't know what really prepares a dad. I'm asking around. But I did my part and now I'm just going to show up and do what I'm told." he had said.
