The 49-year-old singer has been left heartbroken after Robyn Hall, who was in her 70s, fell down six rows of seating at Sydney's Allianz Stadium last Thursday (16.11.23) and on Tuesday (21.11.23) it was confirmed she had passed away.

Before singing his hit 'Angels' in her honour, he said to fans in Melbourne on Wednesday (22.11.23): “I heard the news, the tragic news this week that a fan died in an accident after the show in Sydney and I feel after all the years that I am you and you are me and we are each other when we come together.

“So when something happens like this it breaks my heart. I’ve been thinking about it an awful lot, and I thought about it all the way through the show tonight.

"I just want to give a big shout-out and lots of love from me and my band to Robyn and Robyn’s family.

"Let’s all sing up, she was somebody just like you that came to the gig just like you did tonight. And I think she deserves a big song and tonight this is for her.”

New South Wales Ambulance confirmed they treated Robyn at the scene after injuries "to her face and head", and she was then taken to St Vincent's Hospital "in a critical condition".

A Venues NSW spokesman previously revealed the woman was treated by staff and a guest who was a "qualified medical professional".

They explained: "The patron was attended to immediately by venue staff and a nearby guest who is a qualified medical professional.

"Medics arrived shortly after and the patron was taken from the venue by ambulance to hospital."

It comes after a Taylor Swift fan died at her concert in Brazil last week.

The 33-year-old pop megastar had been gearing up to take to the stage in Rio de Janeiro as part of her 'Eras' tour on Friday (17.11.23), but was left heartbroken when she heard a 23-year-old woman - who has since been named as Ana Clara Benevides - had initially passed out in the 42-degree heat before suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest, according to local media.

In a handwritten note on Instagram, the singer said: "I want to say now feel this loss deeply and broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought thing would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil."
