Rob Lowe was supported by his friend Gwyneth Paltrow as he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday (09.12.15).
The 51-year-old actor - who is married to make-up artist Sheryl Berkoff - was honoured with the 2,567th star at a ceremony in Hollywood attended by both Gwyneth and his 'Grinder' co-star Fred Savage, 39.
Gwyneth, 43, said: "I met Rob Lowe when I was 17 years old. I was in Los Angeles and trying to start becoming an actress and Sheryl and Rob took me under their wing.
"They were always so loving and familial towards me and I knew that I always had a safe place here when I came to Hollywood."
An overwhelmed Rob, who became a Brat Pack heartthrob thanks to roles in 'The Outsiders', 'Oxford Blues', 'St. Elmo's Fire' and 'About Last Night', said: "When I was a little boy I was living in Dayton, Ohio, and I dreamed of one day finding my way to Hollywood to be an actor. And if you would have told me back then that I would be alongside Clark Gable, Humphrey Bogart, Paul Newman, I never ever would have believed it."
He added that he was humbled and grateful for his success in acting, saying: "It's so extraordinary to me that these characters have been embraced for four decades. To those who have enjoyed my work, this star is an emblem of our long journey together. Without your support, none of it would have been a possibility".
Rob was also supported by Sheryl and their two sons, John and Matthew.
