Rita Ora has stopped trusting people.
The 25-year-old singer has suffered a turbulent few years, including a dispute with her former record label Roc Nation and a public split from boyfriend Calvin Harris - who subsequently prevented her from performing 'I Will Never Let You Down', her chart-topping single which he wrote and produced - and admits her experiences have changed her completely.
She said: "I guess I don't trust so many people. I'm a very open person. I love very hard. So if I trust someone, I trust you until you prove me wrong basically.
"And yeah, it's never a nice feeling if you believe in something and it gets destroyed."
But Rita has maintained her faith in some people and kept her belief her career would get back on track, which she thinks helped her through her difficult period.
She said: "It is a very important thing to keep a core team, a trusting and loyal team. And I guess to stay focused, there'll always be another party."
And the former 'X Factor' judge admits she never expected to go through so much upheaval at this point in her life.
She said: "I have gone through things personally and professionally.
"I've dealt with battles I never thought I'd have to deal with at 25."
But now, with a new record deal, an adidas Originals line, a number of endorsement deals and a job as presenter of 'America's Next Top Model', Rita couldn't be happier.
She said: "I haven't felt this comfortable and free creatively in a very long time."
However, the '50 Shades of Grey' actress feels frustrated when people expect her to choose just one career.
She told Britain's Grazia magazine: "It frustrates me that you have to pick one. I don't like that. I do what I love.
"My inspirations are women who do what they want to do and need to do to survive."
