The couple were rumoured to have split after the Blink 182 drummer said he doesn't have the "longing to be in a relationship" but it seems their romance is very much still on as they have been FaceTiming one another after their globe-trotting careers put them on different sides of the Atlantic.
A source told heat magazine: "Everything is fine between them, but they're taking it slowly and getting to know each other properly after a crazy few weeks of dating.
"Travis and Rita have been Facetiming and sending flirty messages. If they get through the next few months of separation, they could become permanent."
However, despite their chemistry, it seems Travis' estranged wife Shanna Moakler - the mother of his two children Landon, 12, and Alabama, nine - isn't impressed with her ex-beau's new relationship and thinks it's a publicity stunt.
The model's former sister-in-law Jacqueline explained: "There's always going to be love between them [Travis and Shanna] - they're soul mates."
Meanwhile, Rita, 24, and Travis, 39, struck up a relationship after they met for the first time at the Power 106 All-Star Game in Los Angeles in September.
And the Travis has made no secret of the fact he was instantly attracted to the 'Body on Me' hitmaker and thinks she has an "awesome" sense of humour.
He said of their meeting previously: "I performed there with Tyga and Kid Ink. We had just met through passing. We have a mutual friend named Willie T.
"I had walked up and he was like, 'Yo, take a picture with Rita.' And I was like, 'OK.' We just took a photo together, but obviously she's stunning."
