Rita Ora says showbiz friendships are fickle.

The 'R.I.P.' singer has come to realise making friends in Hollywood can be as fake as singing up to a dating website because it's all about selling yourself and looking good.

Rita - who has made a close friend in supermodel

Cara Delevingne - said: "To me, I have my friends who I've known my whole life, and I can count them on one hand. They're people I went to school with, my mum's friends' daughters. You know?

"Everyone else I meet from that point on, if they happen to become a friend, that's incredible - come and join the family - but if not.... With Hollywood friends, everybody knows the deal. It's like signing up to a dating website."

While the 23-year-old star - who is dating DJ Calvin Harris - often feels lonely on the road without the support of her close-knit family, she could never envisage quitting the industry.

Rita told the new UK issue of GQ magazine: "Of course, I get lonely and I get sad, but I made a decision to do this ... I'm in an amazing position to change my life, and change my family's life."

Asked if she would have regrets if her career were to end in a year's time, she glowered: That's never ever f***ing going to happen. Never!"
