Ricky Martin takes his children with him when he's touring because it gives them "stability".
The 'Livin' La Vida Loca' hitmaker - who split from boyfriend Carlos González Abella in January - insists his five-year-old twin sons Matteo and Valentino, who he welcomed via surrogate in 2008, join him on the road because it encourages their personal development.
Speaking in an interview with 'Entertainment Tonight Canada', he said: "A lot of people say, 'But Rick, kids, they need stability.' I'm their stability. ... They were born on the road, so they come with me everywhere and they like it.
"If they spend too much time in the same place, they go, 'Dad, what's next?'
"They've been to every museum in the world, they've been to every zoo in the world, so they're having a good time."
The 42-year-old star shot to fame at the age of just 12 when he became a member of the boy band Menudo and he hopes at least one of his sons will follow in his footsteps and embark on a career in music.
He explained: "They have something. They have something going on. It's very beautiful to see my kids playing drums, with a beat. At least one of them. The other is a little bit more hippy-ish. He's more into nature and water and swimming and flowers. But there is one that is very musical, let's see how it goes."
