Richie Sambora

Richie Sambora will play Bon Jovi songs live when he tours.

The guitarist left the band midway through their Because We Can tour last year citing "personal issues", but he planning to perform some of the classic track he co-wrote with the group - which include 'You Give Love a Bad Name', 'Livin' On A Prayer' and 'Wanted Dead or Alive' - when he performs at Soundwave Festival, which tours across Australia, in February and March.

A source told RadarOnline.com: "He's a late addition to the lineup, but plans to unlatch a few co-written Bon Jovi classics while touring the country.

"Sambora is stepping into the front man role and has recruited Australian Alice Cooper and Michael Jackson guitarist Orianthi Panagaris, better known as the Queen of Shred.

"There is a magical chemistry and a vibe that can't go unnoticed while watching them jam together."

Richie, 54, has previously expressed his wish to rejoin Bon Jovi, but sources claim frontman Jon Bon Jovi won't let him return.

A source said: "Jon has been keeping Richie out of the band. And, frankly, he's been a real jerk to Richie, saying some awful things.

"Maybe Jon wants to prove the band can be just as good or even better without Richie. But based on what's happening now that's not working out well."

Bon Jovi are currently on a break after completing a huge world tour in 2013.
