Yo Gotti’s brother Anthony ‘Big Jook’ Mims has reportedly been shot dead.
The 42-year-old rapper’s sibling is said to have been gunned down outside the Perignons Restaurant and Event Center restaurant in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday (13.01.24) along with another unidentified victim.
Memphis Police Department confirmed to Page Six police officers were “flagged down” at 4.15pm local time “on a shooting at 6385 Winchester”.
The force added: “A male was located on the scene and exported to St Francis (hospital) where he was pronounced deceased.
“A second male arrived at St Francis by private vehicle. He is listed as critical.”
The police department did not confirm any identities of the victims and stated the investigation is still ongoing, but Fox 13 is reporting multiple police sources confirmed it was the older brother of ‘Rake it Up’ rapper Yo Gotti who was shot dead.
The outlet also reported the second individual was later airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis in critical condition.
Chief Deputy Paul Wright said in a press conference Memphis PD does not have a “clear” suspect identified at this time, but that they are evaluating “video evidence” from the incident.
TMZ has reported Yo Gotti’s brother had attended a funeral for a relative earlier in the day of the shooting.
Yo Gotti – born Mario Sentell Giden Mims – is yet to publicly address the reported shooting of his brother and it is unclear whether he was there at the time of the incident.
Yo Gotti, born Mario Mims, and Anthony had a close working relationship with each other, with the rapper’s sibling appearing in several of his brother’s music videos.
