Queen Latifah will officiate 34 weddings at the Grammy Awards tonight (26.01.14).
The 'Valentine's Day' actress, who is reportedly in a long-term relationship with personal trainer to the stars Jeanette Jenkins, will oversee the nuptials of a diverse group of couples when Madonna joins Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Mary Lambert on stage to perform their hit, 'Same Love,' which became a marriage-equality anthem last year.
Ryan, 25, said the weddings "will be in our minds the ultimate statement of equality, that all the couples are entitled to the same exact thing."
He also told The New York Times that his sister, Laura, and her boyfriend, Alex, will be among the couples tying the knot at the star-studded ceremony.
He added: "A night that is already tremendous for me, for the music, but to have my sister get married and my family there watching it -- that makes it a whole other level of amazing."
The featured couples will be "gay, straight, old, young, of many races and colours," and only recently found out where the special ceremony would be taking place.
They were also forced to sign confidentiality agreements, preventing them from telling their families about the ceremony.
Grammy organisers said the segment is in keeping with the show's long history of addressing social issues.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are nominated for seven awards at the 56th annual awards ceremony at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles tonight, including Album of the Year for 'The Heist,' Best New Artist and Song of the Year for 'Same Love.'
