Jessica Sutta has given birth to a baby boy.
The Pussycat Dolls star and her husband Mikey Marquart have welcomed their first child together, as the singer has now confirmed Michael Jesse "MJ" Marquart was born on May 25.
MJ weighed 8lbs 6oz, measured 21 inches long, and was born at the hands of Dr. Karla Iacampo at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, she said: "She [Dr. Iacampo] and her team are amazing! After pushing for four hours, I ended up having a C-section and they moved fast and quickly and made it less intimidating for me, because I was definitely nervous. But there was so much joy and amazing chemistry between nurses and doctors that they made the experience a comfortable and an unforgettable one! They even played rock music during the surgery, and when MJ was born he came out to 'Good Times Bad Times' by Led Zeppelin."
And a representative for the family added: "Mommy, Baby and Daddy are now safe and doing well at home, enjoying their new family.”
Jessica – who married Mikey in 2019 – confirmed she was expecting a baby in March this year, when she said 2021 has been an “exciting” year so far.
She said: "It's been an exciting year for me so far. I got some crazy news to share. I'm having a baby. I'm due in May. I've always wanted to be a mommy. I swear, I'm going to get so emotional because I'm finally able to say it … It's been so exciting and it's a dream come true."
The 39-year-old singer also revealed at the time she had already named her baby MJ, but wasn’t sure if the name would stick.
She added: "I'm having a little boy named MJ. It's just been an incredible journey. What a beautiful gift that 2020 gave me ...
"He feels like an MJ to me, but he could be a Mikey, a Jesse, a Zion, or maybe he'll make up his own name when he gets older. Whatever he wants. It's his life. I'm just going to have the pleasure of being his mother, and I'm going to let him live and be exactly who he wants to be."
