Priyanka Chopra has invested in the popular dating app Bumble.
The 36-year-old actress - who is engaged to 'Jealous' hitmaker Nick Jonas - has announced her partnership with the mobile app, which has an estimated 12.5 million users, as it takes new steps to expand into her native country of India.
Bumble's interface is unique in that it puts the power in the hands of its female users, with men only being able to speak to women once the woman has sent the first message.
The app also offers a Bumble Bizz app for job offers and business networking, where, like the dating version, the women make the first move.
In a statement, Priyanka said: "I've always believed that investing in women is key to social transformation and economic growth.
"Women want love, they want friendship and they want to find a career, and that's the uniqueness of what Bumble delivers."
The app claims it is responsible for 5,000 weddings and engagements and boasts a range of celebrity users like 'Made In Chelsea's' Jamie Laing and 'Celebrity Big Brother's' Chad Johnson.
On Wednesday (03.10.18) evening Priyanka announced to her 23.3 million Twitter followers about her new move into investment, as she wrote: "A new chapter for me! I am so excited to partner with @bumble and @holbertonschool as an investor. I'm honoured to join two companies that strive to expand gender diversity in the tech space, and make a social impact for the greater good... let's do this!! (sic)"
The former Miss World will act as an advisor to the app and told fans via her social media that the 'Two and a Half Men' actor Ashton Kutcher had "inspired" the bold move.
Sharing an article of Priyanka's investment news, Ashton tweeted: "Invest in the future you want to see!"
Priyanka replied: "u clearly inspired us @aplusk (sic)"
