Priscilla Presley has not quit the Church of Scientology.
Despite reports over the weekend that the 72-year-old star had defected from the controversial religion, representatives for Priscilla have told PEOPLE that she is still a member.
Priscilla is believed to have been a member of the church since the death of her ex-husband Elvis Presley in 1977 and she raised their daughter Lisa-Marie in it.
However, there have been unconfirmed reports in recent years that Lisa-Marie has quit, although she has never commented publicly on it.
Priscilla has been a vocal advocate of the church and according to the website What Is Scientology, which is operated by Church of Scientology International, Priscilla previously said: "L Ron Hubbard researched man and has carefully and precisely mapped a route out of the madness, misery and unwanted conditions one can encounter in life. When applied exactly, the technology produces incredible results. Those results are very definite and eternal.
"Were it not for Scientology, I would either be completely insane or dead by now. I am forever grateful for the technology of Scientology and to Mr. Hubbard who dedicated his life to helping man and this planet, as well as to the people who have dedicated their lives to helping others through Scientology."
High profile church members include Tom Cruise, John Travolta and Kirstie Alley, while Leah Remini has been an outspoken critic of the religion since defecting three years ago.
