The 32-year-old prince - who is dating actress Meghan Markle - reportedly wanted to be married and have children before he was 30, but hadn't found the right person and so he is hoping his personal life settles down sooner rather than later.

A source said: "It's no secret Harry is getting broody and wants to settle down.

"He has ditched his bachelor lifestyle, along with the drunken parties, and is now saying, 'I want a wife'...

"He had hoped to be married by the time he hit 30, but that was two years ago and he is still looking for someone to settle down with.

"Finding the right girl, getting married and having babies are his top priorities."

Harry adores spending time with his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Duchess Catherine's children, Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 18 months, and the youngsters have only deepened his desire to have a family of his own.

The source added to Woman magazine: Being an uncle to George and Charlotte has shown him what he's missing so he wants a family of his own even more now.

"Harry loves playing with them, spoiling them and having fun together - just like he'd do with his own children."

And the flame-haired royal hopes having a family would have made his late mother, Princess Diana, proud.

The source said: "Harry misses his mum and would love to start a family to make Diana proud.

"He wants to honour her and raise his kids just like she raised him."

Harry has previously admitted he always thinks about what his mother would have wanted for him.

He said earlier this year: "I am sure she's longing for me to have kids so she can be a grandmother.

"I hope she's looking down with tears in her eyes being incredibly proud of what we have done.

"I hope everything we do makes her proud."
