Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have been to visit their "marvellous" grandson the Prince of Cambridge - who is to leave hospital "in a minute".
The proud grandparents went to see Charles' son Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, this afternoon (23.07.13).
Charles and Camilla arrived at 5:28pm and after spending less than 30 minutes with the tot and his parents they left at 5.24pm so they could make an official function in Wales.
As they left, 64-year-old Charles told the assembled media outside the hospital - who have been waiting patiently for the first glimpse of the royal baby - his grandson was "marvellous" and told reporters they would see how wonderful the baby is "in a minute".
The day old Prince of Cambridge - who was born at 4:24pm on Monday afternoon (22.07.13) - is third-in-line to the British throne after his father William, 31, and Prince Charles.
It has been confirmed by that Duchess Catherine and her son will be discharged from hospital this evening and will return home to Kensington Palace.
Earlier in the day, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their baby were visited by Catherine's parents Carole and Michael Middleton.
Carole described her grandson as "absolutely beautiful" and revealed the tot and her daughter - known as Kate Middleton before she married Prince William - are "doing really well".
