The 38-year-old singer - who has daughter Willow, six, and 11-month-old son Jameson with her husband Carey Hart - believes life is getting worse and worse as time goes on, although she tries to "remind" herself about the "good stuff" in her world.

Speaking to Metro newspaper, the 'Beautiful Trauma' hitmaker said: "I think life is f**king traumatic and getting more so by the day.

"But I also think there's a lot of beauty and I believe in holding on to that, especially now. You have to give fair time to it, you have to remind yourself that the good stuff is all around you. Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude. Because otherwise it's f***ed, everything's f**ked."

The 'So What' artist also admitted she has "hated" herself for years.

Pink explained: "I've hated myself at so many points in my life. I look at myself and I'm like, 'Is this it?' But then it automatically changes into either gratitude for my health or f**k it."

Although Pink goes through phases of liking and disliking herself, she is now trying to embrace her appearance.

She confessed: "I've got to the stage where I'm like, 'I'm never going to be that size, I'm never going to look younger than this.'"

Earlier this year, Pink made a touching speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, in which she retold a conversation she had with her oldest child about beauty.

She said: "Recently, I was driving my daughter to school and she said to me, out of the blue, 'Mama, I'm the ugliest girl I know.'

"She was like, 'Yeah, I look like a boy with long hair.' And my brain went to, 'Oh my God, you're six. Where is this coming from? Who said this? Can I kick a six-year-old's ass?'

"Her eyes glazed over. But then I said, 'I really want to know why you feel this way about yourself.' And Willow replied, 'I look like a boy.'

"I told her that when people make fun of me, that's what they use, that I look like a boy ... I have too many opinions ... My body is too strong. Do you see me growing my hair? Do you see me changing my body? Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world? So, baby girl. We don't change. We take gravel in a shell and we make a pearl, and we help other people to change ... You, my darling girl, are beautiful and I love you."
