Pharrell Williams says he and wife Helen Lasichanh push one another to do better.
Williams currently riding high with his latest hit 'Happy' and model spouse Helen Lasichanh have a strong friendship and "push" one another to do better in their careers.
He said: "We just motivated each other as friends. She pushes me. I push her."
Pharrell - who married Helen last October have five-year-old son Rocket together also admitted he hasn't always understood the "value" of having good people around him, including his supportive fans.
Discussing his good manners, he told the new issue of Britain's ELLE magazine: "I wasn't always that way. I took a lot of years to understand the value of things and the value of the people you work with.
"The value of your fans who ultimately hold you high and lift you up. We're just hang gliders, dude, and they are carrying us around."
Earlier this year, Pharrell hit headlines for the unusual Vivienne Westwood hat he donned for the Grammy awards, but he insists it wasn't an unusual style statement for him.
He said: "I remembered (Malcom McLaren's) 'Buffalo Gals' video, where he wears the hat. I actually wore it five years before I was photographed in it, it's just that no one was paying attention at the time."
The new edition of ELLE magazine goes on sale on June 5.
