Peter Andre once pretended to be a member of the Backstreet Boys.
The ‘Mysterious Girl’ singer didn’t want to disappoint a horde of “screaming” fans in Germany who spotted him and were convinced he was Kevin Richardson, although he admitted the crowd was baffled when the real Kevin and the rest of the boy band turned up.
Speaking in New! magazine, he said: “In the 90s when I was releasing albums, I went to an event in Germany and the fans outside went mental thinking I was one of the Backstreet Boys.
“They were screaming and calling me Kevin, so I just went along with it.
“Myself and Kevin did have very similar hair back in the day, so I can see how people could have mixed us up.
“Let’s just say when the Backstreet Boys did turn up, the crowd looked very confused.”
Pete is currently working on a new album and he has been writing with Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson on some songs.
He previously spilled: "As my new album is well under way, it’s nice to get some familiar faces and great songwriters to collaborate with.
“Last week I spent the day in the studio with Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson and we’ve written a great song together."
Pete has also recorded a track with Lady Leshurr and has been working with Take That's Gary Barlow on another musical project.
