Peter Andre feels “more chilled” than ever as he nears his 50th birthday.
The ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker will turn 48 next month, and although many are concerned about the threat of a midlife crisis when they hit 50, Peter thinks he’s already endured that phase of his life.
Instead, Peter is in a “happy place”, and is planning on ensuring he’s in “the best shape of [his] life” when his landmark birthday arrives in 2023.
He told The Sun on Sunday’s Bizarre column: “My mid-life crisis was in my thirties.
“I wanted all the fast cars, Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
“I remember feeling really down when I turned 40, but now I’m so much more chilled and I love life.
"I’m in a happy place. I want to be in the best shape of my life – 50 is the new 30.”
Peter’s push for peak fitness also comes as he battled COVID-19 last month, as he says he’s still struggling with breathlessness when he exercises.
He added: “COVID hit me hard, but I’ve finally started to get my sense of smell back. The only thing I have now is that I get out of breath when I exercise. I’m not as fast as I was. I’m having to do a slow jog, rather than a run.”
The ‘Flava’ singer also shared his tips for working out, and said the “best time” to hit the gym is “when you’re tired”.
He explained: “The hardest bit of working out is the motivation. The best time to work out is when you’re tired – have an espresso, wait about 20 minutes, then do it. Then you feel unreal.
“Or first thing in the morning. I like a shot of espresso, a glass of water, a tiny spoon of peanut butter.
“Do your cardio on an empty stomach, then you’re burning from the night before.”
