The Little Mix singer - who ended her two year engagement with former 'One Direction' star Zayn Malik last year - has admitted she is thrilled her pal and 'The X Factor' judge has finally found happiness with the 22-year-old singer.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper about the couple's blossoming romance, the blonde beauty said: "Cheryl is a good friend of mine. She wants to do whatever makes her happy. I'm happy for her."
Perrie accompanied her ex beau's former band mate - who is ten years Cheryl's junior - and the former 'Girls Aloud' artist for dinner just before Christmas and she remains supportive - although fans are not as compassionate.
Cheryl has become the victim of abuse from trolls on social media since her relationship with One Direction heartthrob Liam was revealed.
Reaching out to female fans who have attacked her for dating the hunk, she pleaded: "It can be so hard at times being a girl, for sooo many reasons! But we don't have to make it harder for each other ... Why do we still feel the need to do that ?? I don't understand it. I have always been a Girls girl, and love other strong women.
"That is why I surround myself with them, and that is why I try to empower others. Trying to pull another person down, only speaks volumes about your character.! And not a thing about theirs.. There's nothing more powerful or beautiful than an inspiring, strong women that you can look up to or turn to ... Be one!!! (sic)"
