Paul Walker's family and friends held a private memorial at the site of his car crash on Monday night (02.11.13).
'The Fast and the Furious' star was killed alongside his pal, Roger Rodas, when the Porsche they were travelling in smashed into a pole in Santa Clarita, California on Saturday (30.11.13).
Antonio Holmes, who knew the 40-year-old star through his Always Evolving racing team, told People.com that police officers helped to clear space for the group and fans were asked to briefly disperse to give them time to mourn.
He also revealed that a public memorial is being planned for December 15, where fans will be able to pay their respects.
He explained: "We'll be over at Neptune's [Net] in Malibu to do a tribute ride. There's an infamous scene in the first 'Fast and the Furious' movie that was shot there."
A source told the Hollywood Reporter that Universal Studios, which distributes the franchise, obtained the necessary permit for the emotional gathering.
Paul's co-star Vin Diesel spoke to fans after the memorial and said: "Thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciated him."
Meanwhile, rapper Flo Rida is the latest celebrity to pay tribute to the late actor, who is survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Rain Walker, according to gossip website TMZ.com.
Speaking on stage at the Jingle Ball concert in Dallas, Texas, on Monday night, he said: "He was a rider himself ... much love, god bless your family and yourself, Paul Walker."
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
