Patsy Kensit regrets splitting from Liam Gallagher.

The former 'Emmerdale' actress married the former Oasis frontman in 1997 and they had son Lennon, now 14, together.

Patsy eventually ended the relationship in 2000 - leading to Liam announcing the end of his marriage while drunk at an Oasis concert at the old Wembley Stadium in London - but she admits she was too concerned with other people's opinions of their relationship following a flurry of cheating rumours.

She revealed to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'd heard all the rumours about his womanising and I knew exactly what was going on behind my back,"

"The minute he left I was in turmoil about where he was and what he was up to."

Patsy admits her insecurities about her relationship with Liam saw her pass up on the opportunity to play the character of Emily - the girlfriend of Ross Geller - in the hit sitcom 'Friends'.

She recalled: "'Friends' was an offer you didn't pass up, but I couldn't commit to it. I knew I needed to be at home if my relationship with Liam was going to survive.

"It was already a struggle keeping things together with his touring schedule. I was madly in love and I chose my marriage over the job."

Looking back, Patsy claims she wasn't really ready to split with the rocker as she explained: "I cared way too much about what other people thought. I regretted walking out almost immediately. I think he had moved on while I still had feelings for him, and my heart was broken into a million pieces."

"Everything I did in the last 18 months of marriage was about trying to get Liam's attention."

Patsy - who is about to release her autobiography 'Absolute Beginner' - went on to marry Jeremy Healy before divorcing him in 2010, while Liam recently split from his current wife, former All Saints star Nicole Appleton, over revelations he had fathered a love child with American journalist Liza Ghorbani.
