The 48-year-old actress had an emotional dream about her late sibling - who died last September aged 47 after suffering a heart attack - and after receiving a kind message from a fan who admitted she'd struggle to cope if she was in a similar position, the 'Boyhood' star revealed she isn't finding it easy.

She tweeted: "It's really hard.(sic)"

While Patricia's dream was emotional, she was still able to admire the fashion sense her transgender sibling had displayed in the nocturnal vision.

She tweeted: "Dreamt about Alexis. She was 20 wearing a sequins 50s dress. I started crying & said I come from the future I'm your sister I love U so much.

"I think Dior made her dress. She has the best clothes over there! (sic)"

The 'Wannabe' star - who has son Enzo, 28, and daughter Harlow, 13, from past relationships - believed her dream was proof that love can "permeate anything".

When one follower told how a dream about her late grandfather had allowed her to say goodbye, Patricia replied: "So sweet. Love can permeate anything.(sic)"

Patricia previously praised Alexis - who died from cardiac arrest following a long battle with HIV for refusing to compromise herself for the sake of her career.

She wrote following her sibling's death: "Alexis was a brilliant artist and painter, a singer, an entertainer and an acto.

"Her career was cut short, not by her passing, but by her decision to live her truth and her life as a transgender woman. Despite the fact that there are few parts for trans actors, she refused to play roles that were demeaning or stereotypical. She was a vanguard in the fight for understanding and acceptance for all trans people."
