Paris Jackson is expected to visit her family at home in the New Year.
The 15-year-old aspiring actress, who is the daughter of the late Michael Jackson, is currently staying at a $14,000-per-month therapeutic private school in Utah, while she recovers from an apparent suicide attempt in June, but may get a temporary release pass to spend some quality time with her brothers, Prince, 16, and Blanket, 11, and her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, in Los Angeles in January.
A source told gossip website TMZ.com that the teenager is doing better and took part in a family therapy session on Tuesday morning (26.11.13) over the phone with her therapist, Katherine and her mother, Debbie Rowe, whom she had been estranged from before Michael's death in 2009.
The insider said that Katherine is redoing Paris' room in anticipation for her homecoming.
But the source said that she is likely to remain in the boarding school for "years" as she battles to overcome her personal problems.
Katherine previously opened up about Paris' intensive treatment and insisted she is "in a good place."
The 83-year-old Jackson family matriarch said: "She is in a good place, getting the help she needs. She is doing much better.
"The treatment is going good, really good. She's my baby. It's hard for me, really hard. All I want these kids to be is happy."
