The 30-year-old presenter thinks the former politician has created a "phenomenon" with his flamboyant performances, and though the ex-Shadow Chancellor has been criticised for his lack of dancing ability, Ore doesn't think it matters.

He said: "Ed is creating a 'Strictly' phenomenon. There is no reason why he can't win. It would be completely deserved as he's doing it for the right reasons."

His wife Portia added: "In the green room, he's the life and soul, everyone loves being around him.

"He'll be throwing Katya [Jones] up in the air. He's brilliant."

The former 'Newsround' presenter is loving his stint on the show and has vowed to keep dancing even when it comes to an end.

He said: "I want to keep dancing because it has given me so much.

"My true passion is sport and covering big live events such as the Olympics. Now it feels like I've played a part in a national event.

"There's something so exhilarating about performing for a live audience...

"I'm having so much fun. I don't want it to end."

Ore is very thankful to have his wife's support throughout the competition.

He told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "Portia being so supportive has made it all possible. 'Strictly' is all-consuming but she keeps me grounded. I can enjoy it even more because she is apart of it.

"She's my choreographer, stylist, physiotherapist, as well as wife.

"It's easy for this show to become like a runaway train and for loved ones to feel like they are outside that, but Portia was always going to be part of the inner 'Strictly' circle.

"When I was in the dance-off, it gave me a real boost knowing she was there."
