One Direction

One Direction are mourning the death of one of their biggest fans.

The group were saddened by the news of the sudden passing of 16-year-old Magdalena Szablinska - known as Magda - after a suspected heart attack earlier this week.

The teenager had been rushed to hospital after collapsing at a bus stop by her school in London, but doctors were unable to save her.

Harry Styles - who, along with the rest of the group, had met Magda and posed for photos with her - wrote on his Twitter page: "It's incredibly sad to hear the news about Magda. She was so so lovely, i am thinking of her and her family. RIP .xx. (sic)"

Louis Tomlinson also paid tribute, writing: "Just heard the news about Magda :( it's really upset me she was a lovely girl and devoted fan. All the love in the world to her family. (sic)"

The other three members of the boy band - Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne - have yet to comment.

Mada's father, Tadeusz, told London's Evening Standard newspaper: "We are trying to come to terms with this. She was an angel and everybody has said so. So many people have contacted us to pay their respects, she was so loved.

"She liked One Direction and had so many friends on Facebook, she loved school and was very popular and doing very well, she was our star."

Many tributes have also come in from other One Direction fans, who followed Magda's popular @1DCrew account, which had amassed almost 10,000 followers.
