Olly Murs has had "a difficult couple of weeks" since splitting from his girlfriend.
The 'Troublemaker' singer broke up with his girlfriend of three years, Francesca Thomas, last month and has now admitted he's been angered by rumours spurred on by his 'X Factor' boss Simon Cowell that he's been romancing his co-host Caroline Flack.
Responding to speculation, he said: "It's so silly because I've obviously just gone through a break-up with my girlfriend which has been quite sad and quite a difficult couple of weeks so I'm going to have words with Simon about that. But me and Caroline have always said a hundred times in interviews that we're never going to get together, we're just really good mates."
The 31-year-old star also insisted there's no chance he and Caroline, 35, will be getting together despite him recently describing her as "the perfect girlfriend" after she confessed she fancied him when they first met.
Speaking on ITV's 'Loose Women', Olly explained: "Simon's always just trying to stir it up, but we're just great friends, but it's been a difficult couple of weeks."
News of Olly and Francesca's split first emerged under two weeks ago when he was said to be feeling "numb".
A source said at the time: "The split has just happened and it is very raw for Olly, he still feels numb.
"He always worried that his relationship would struggle because he'd always put his career first."
