Noel Gallagher doesn't believe in aliens

The former Oasis rocker is sceptical that there are extra-terrestrials out there, but he hopes that proof is found that are other lifeforms in the universe because their existence would prove there is no God and then, hopefully, all the "religious f***wits" would have to shut up.

He said: “There’s no evidence to back aliens up. But I think it would probably be the best thing that could happen to humanity. For one massive reason, because it would then disprove the theory of God and all religious f**kwits could shut up and put the guns down, because the minute aliens reveal themselves. The idea of God is gone now. And the idea of religion is over

“We would be like, ‘F***ing hell so that was a f***ing load of bollocks then.”

Although the 53-year-old musician would like aliens to be discovered to destroy the concept of religion, he is certain that those in charge of the Catholic church and other faiths would try and find a way to justify their belief systems.

Speaking about the Vatican, the 'Supersonic' hitmaker added: “Their attitude is this. Well, if there is alien contact, we're still going to believe in God anyway.”

Although Noel doesn't think that there's anything out there in the galaxy, his brother and former Oasis bandmate Liam Gallagher is a believer in aliens and thinks and other worldly presence helped them create their chart-topping band in the early 90s.

The 48-year-old singer previously said: "There was some f***ing ­activity going on that we weren't aware of. Whether it's aliens or spirits.

"But we were going to be in this world-famous band. Someone was making plans."
