The 36-year-old director recently helmed the rap star's Prime Video documentary, 'Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words', and Nneka has now taken to X to praise the 'Mamushi' hitmaker.

Nneka wrote on the micro-blogging platform: "I had a ball directing Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words documentary. I’m so glad it’s touching so many. I’m so happy and proud of @theestallion #inherwords (sic)"

Megan, 29, has been candid about her personal struggles - which include being shot in the foot by rapper Tory Lanez in July 2020 - in the new documentary.

The chart-topping rap star has also opened up about her experience of depression, and Nneka recently described Megan as the "definition of strength".

The director told TIME: "Most of us say we're strong, but we've never had millions of people every day lying on us, saying negative things about us.

"I commend Megan for her resilience throughout this process to still come out on top. She truly is the definition of strength to me."

Despite her fame and success, Nneka believes that Megan's story is still "so relatable".

Nneka said: "This film is Megan's open book into her heart during one of the hardest times of her life.

"It highlights how grief and depression can take a toll on your life and your experiences. There’s so much grief in the world right now, which is why I feel like this story is so relatable."

In the documentary, Megan insisted that she no longer worries about her critics.

She says: "I do feel like I’m getting in a place where I really don’t care. I only care about my damn self. For the first time since my mama was alive, I’m taking care of myself, because I want to feel good.

"Everything I do is for me. And I don’t feel like I’m operating at one-million percent now, but I definitely feel like I’m operating better. I do feel hopeful for what’s next for me."
