Nick Lachey feels like a "buffoon" on 'Dancing With The Stars'.
The 43-year-old singer is struggling with his moves on the dancing show and is frustrated that his hard work is not paying off.
He told his professional partner Peta Murgatroyd: "I feel like a buffoon. To me, I don't feel like a dancer. I feel like an idiot trying to be a dancer.
"I'm frustrated because I feel like we come in here and we work as hard as anybody else and the results just don't happen the way I want them to happen. I feel like I just don't know what I'm doing there."
The pair are working on a Western-themed Samba and Peta is sympathetic to her partner's struggles.
The 31-year-old dancer said: "This is the worst week for Nick to be down on himself because he's got the samba. You've got to go into it with full confidence and I just feel like that's not there right now."
However, Nick insisted that he will use his stint on the show to show his children - sons Camden John, five, and 10-month-old Phoenix and daughter Brooklyn Elisabeth, two - that quitting is never an option.
He said: "I came into this competition to challenge myself. I tell my five-year-old: 'Once you commit to something, stick it out.' I would never want him to look at dad and think dad was a quitter.
"It's not an easy thing to be confident doing something you're not in, so I have to come out and sell it as if I'm the best dancer in the world."
