Nick Jonas thinks people spend too much time on their phone

Nick Jonas thinks people need to put their phones away when they're on dates, no matter how long you've been together.

The singer thinks technology is getting in the way of having healthy and happy relationships.

In an interview in the new issue of Flaunt magazine, he said: "No phones. Put your phone away. That's, like, every date, even years into a relationship. Stop texting. Pay attention to what's going on right now."

The 22-year-old singer recently admitted there are three vital traits he looks for in a woman before he starts a relationship with her.

When asked what he looks for in a partner, he said: "Honesty, sense of humour, and good times."

The former Jonas Brothers singer is working on a solo album - which is due to be released in November - and says each track has a specific "purpose".

He explained: "I really try to be aware of the purpose of each song. There are songs on my record that I want people to have sex to, and songs people can listen to when they're p***ed off.

"And I think that's the beautiful thing about music: that in those moments, you hear it and it elevates the scenario."
