Nick Jonas was "mortified" when a doorman didn't recognise him in the height of his fame.
The 'Jealous' hitmaker was left feeling embarrassed when he was out with an older woman and failed to be recognised as he tried to get into a party with his date.
Nick recalled: "I get to the door and he doesn't recognize me, which is totally fine, happens a lot ... I was so mortified, I was trying to impress this girl that was older than me ... really at like a peak moment of success at my career. And yet I have to tell the doorman, 'Listen, I'm Nick Jonas.' I was about to get in his face and I just pull out my ID ... and was like, 'See, it's right there,' [I] put it back in my pocket and was like 'we're leaving' and we left. We grabbed like Pink Taco or something instead."
However, whilst it was incredibly embarrassing for Nick at the time, the 25-year-old singer thinks moments like that are "important" because it helps you approach fame in a more "graceful way".
Speaking on the Unqualified podcast, he added: "I think those moments are important though, to understand what your awareness of this thing is and how to approach it in a graceful way."
Meanwhile, Nick previously insisted he is "too busy" for love at the moment and has no plans to rush down the aisle now his brothers are engaged or married.
He said: "It's not that I'm not pursuing love in some sense, but I'm just too busy right now. The time that I do have, I want it to be fun and casual and light and a non-stressful thing."
And asked if he feels the pressure now one of his brother's is engaged and the other is married, he added: "The opposite! I'm sure there will come a time when I'm ready to make a more serious commitment and be in a relationship like that but I'm thrilled to be able to keep things light at the moment."
